Bloemfontein is located along the N1, making it an ideal stopover for those travelling from Gauteng to Cape Town. Itis situated about 400km from Johannesburg and roughly 1,000km from Cape Town. Bloemfontein is the seat of the Appeal Court and is the 'judicial capital' of South Africa. Known informally as the City of Roses, Bloemfontein (flowerfountain) became the capital of the Free State and is the economic leader in central South Africa and is within close proximity of the University of the Free State and several fine schools such as the well – known Grey College. 

The centre may be easily accessed via the Nelson Mandela off-ramp into Bloemfontein.
